Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy Pellets are FDA regulated and by prescription

only. Bio-identical hormone pellets provide an individualized approach to treating the life-changing, negative effects of the natural decline in hormone levels men and women experience with age-from persistent fatigue, decreased sex drive, mood swings, insomnia and depression to aches, pains, stiffness, and decreased bone density and muscle mass. Dr. Kent Beams, with Compassionate Physicians Clinic, is dedicated to helping men and women enjoy renewed energy, youthful vitality, and a better health-both physically and mentally.

A Simple In-Office Procedure

Pellet Therapy is today’s ultimate option in natural hormone replacement therapy. Bio-identical hormones have the same chemical structure as the hormones created naturally in your body. When compared to conventional hormone replacement therapy, pellets have been shown to be far superior in treating many of the symptoms of hormone deficiency, without the fluctuations in hormone levels found with the other methods of delivery.

Following a thorough personal hormone evaluation, we create a customized plan to replenish your body’s hormone levels. By prescription, your replacement hormones are compounded in a pharmacy and pressed into tiny, time-release pellets about the size of a grain of rice. Under local anesthetic, the pellets are inserted just under the skin on the upper buttocks through a very small incision.

What are the goals of BHRT?

To help alleviate symptoms caused by the natural decrease in hormone production in the body and to work towards reestablishing the individual’s hormonal balance.

How do I know if I need BHRT?

Typical symptoms for females include hot flashes, poor sleep, weight gain, bouts of depression, mood swings, osteopenia or osteoarthritis, poor libido, decreased energy. For men symptoms are decreased strength/energy, decreased muscle mass, poor sleep, poor libido, weight gain.

What is the process to start treatment?

You will complete a detailed health history and questionnaire, then have a series of lab work in our office. We will then schedule a consultation with you about your results and discuss treatment options.

How are the pellets administered?

A small incision will be made at the upper part of your hip or back after a local anesthetic has been given. A trocar will be placed in the incision into the fatty tissue. This device will allow pellets to be placed in the subcutaneous tissue where they will be gradually absorbed by your body over several months. A small dressing will be applied after the trocar is removed.

Are there any restrictions?

You will need to avoid any heavy lifting or soaking in a bath tub/swimming pool for at least 5 days after the procedure, then you can resume any activities you like.
